Sidebar: Getting Clear on Transparency

  • Transparent: Light passes through the material with little or no distortion. Clear glass is transparent.
  • Translucent: Light diffuses as it passes through the material. Frosted glass is translucent.
  • Opaque: No light gets through. A brick wall is opaque.
